"Six Sigma is more than just a quality system – it's a way of thinking that empowers people to make decisions based on data, not opinions." - Dr Mikel J. Harry, one of the co-creators of Six Sigma
About Lean Team Solutions
"It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts." - Arthur Conan Doyle
Our founder
James Wong started his journey at Motorola when Six Sigma was pioneered and introduced. He resolved long-term, difficult complex problems and achieved amazing results in defects reduction within Motorola manufacturing.
The approach was based on Six Sigma philosophy - Define the problem, get the data and evidence, analyse and work on the facts, not on opinionated gossip. Find and fix the root cause to resolve the problems.
In 2005, Motorola attributed over $17 billion savings to Six Sigma.
The Six Sigma journey
Six Sigma was conceived at Motorola in the 80's to solve quality problems in Motorola manufacturing. Today Six Sigma is increasingly relevant in today's inter-connected complex world of modern technology products and services, with impact on dated processes and needs to enhance quality and skills of staff.
Cycle Time Reduction was a major theme which focused on reducing processing time at all stages. Customers do not pay for waiting time, but expect contractual delivery as promised.
Today, Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma are commonly associated as being the same - meeting customer needs, reduce waste (e.g. time) and variation.
Six Sigma methodology provides the knowledge, tools and techniques, to resolve quality problems which people talked and complained about. Effective direction and training provide the confidence and ability, to fuel one's drive and initiative to face the challenges.
Lean Team Solutions is an independent training-consultancy services provider of Six Sigma for working professionals. To be trained and confident in applying Six Sigma methodology in real world business, quality and process problems. To create a better, effective and efficient work environment for all to thrive in.
Six Sigma is more than a certificate or trophy or Christmas present. It is a life-skill needed in a structured, data driven, evidence-based methodology, not gossip nor emotionally driven opinions. This applies in any professional work or personal situation, facing difficult, recurrent and inefficiency problems.
Six Sigma associates with martial arts belt colours in proficiency levels. Similarly Six Sigma may also associate with quotes: "There is no losing in martial arts. Either you win or you learn."
